Cardinals History

  • In 1931, the Cardinals selected Ray Moss off waivers from the Boston Braves.
  • The Washington Senators traded Bill Mc Afee and cash to the Cardinals in 1933 for Ed Chapman. 
  •  The Chicago Cubs purchased Bill Lee from the St. Louis Cardinals in 1933. 
  • In 1936 the Boston Bees purchased Buster Mills from the St. Louis Cardinals.
  • The Cardinals signed Pat Perry as a free agent in 1983.
  • In 1986, the Cardinals signed Duane Walker as a free agent.
  • The New York Yankees, in 1994, selected Rob Murphy off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals.
  • The Cardinals released Jason Conti in 2006.
