Milt Stock – 4 hits per game in 4 consecutive games

Milton Joseph Stock (July 11, 1893 – July 16, 1977) was a third baseman in Major League Baseball from 1913 through 1926. He played for 4 teams including the NYGiants, Phillies, Brooklyn Robins and 5 years with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Stock stood 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 m) tall, weighed 154 pounds (70 kg) and threw and batted right-handed.

It is believed that he got four hits per game in four consecutive games and is the only Major Leaguer to accomplish this. In 2007, Rafael Furcal got it done in three straight games.

Stock was seriously injured in a collision with Lou Gehrig in spring training in 1926, and retired early in season.
